Yesterday we visited Finance and Math in the NY Times Business section including looking at the biggest movers of the year so far like Google and also at the Mutual Funds report for the second quarter

Today we discussed hyperinflation in Germany in the 1920's




Moore's Law




both of the above are exponential functions

We have been doing Khan A for about a month and Steven does it at school in lieu of IXL.

Steven got into the Harbor School

We are so excited
When Steven called me I was teaching at the college and had told my students that I was expecting a call...when I saw the number come thru I picked up and heard "Mom I got in!!"

It was done by lottery and when we went to visit they did not have our name because I had entered it into the computer too early in Sept
So we called many times and then it was not until Nov that I went to pick up Steven at school and Ruth Joseph was in the office and called while I was there.   Luckily I had my phone in my pocket b/c Ruth was asked what date we were there.  When she told the Asst Principal, the response was "Oh now I see his name written in"
We then emailed the principal and AP and then sent a printout of the email via snail mail with a maritime stamp

We are soo excited
